This evening there was a VST from Poole to Wimbledon, formed of 2x 450s.
I genuinely have no idea what the purpose of the service is, nor am I aware of any events in Wimbledon that would require such a service. Would anybody know why the service ran, as I have never come across anything like it before.

Isn’t it more likely to be getting people home from the South Coast - maybe converting an ecs working that is going to Wimbledon depot (hence not going into Waterloo)?

Makes sense that, trains to/from Bournemouth have been extremely busy these last few days due to the weather and it being half term.

Maybe running in place of something from Weymouth which has been cancelled?

It was a control relief to get people home from the seaside.
