I had a guy on NXEC who sounded robotic (and it was a real person). He was so boring to listen to and couldn't pronounce some of the stations, including Carnoustie (interchange info) and Kirkcaldy. :roll:

Then there was the guy on FSR: "THIS IS THE GLASGA TRAIN! THIS TRAIN IS FIR GLEASGA! THIS TRAIN WILL TERMINATE AT GLESGA!!!" :lol:

That is sooo true! The NXEC guy is from like Stornaway and does indeed sound like a robot! Then the massive change when you get on FSR!

That bloke has worked my train a few times, he's only a short bloke :lol:

I get on with him and another guy for NXEC pretty well, the other guy being youngish and usually has his hair sticking up and blond, you know him?

Then there's this blond short woman which absolute hates me and most probably other enthusiasts trying to get abit of window action.

It was good when the short blond and fattish woman and the bloke that doesn't sound like a robot, because he not only let me stand at a window but in First Class right behind the Valenta (if I let him know beforehand) then when she came up to tell me to get into Standard Class I said i've already cleared it with the guard then she walked off in a huff :lol:

I liked the blonde woman, although I wasn't trying to do heads-out at the time :) Don't know the blonde guy. All the people I've had on NXEC up to Aberdeen have been really nice and friendly and generally good traincrew in my experience.

Virgin and AXC services that I've used tend to have cheery announcers like Kevin mentioned earlier, although I don't think he's managed my train.

I think the NXEC are usually paired like this:

Fat blond short woman (Disgusting bitch) + young dark short haired kid (The latter kid being OK).

Blong tallish slim woman + the young tallish blond bloke (Both I get on well with).

Robot man can be on his own or with another fattish bold headed bloke (Both I get on with)

Now enough of the Guard spotting :lol:

:lol: I've had "disgusting bitch" and "Robot man" together coming down from Aberdeen and they were both quite nice to me anyway.

Are you referring to that rather attractive blonde lady who looks like shes probably only in her twenties? If so, she was very nice to me on the train back from Glasgow a while back ;)

When there's a crew change in Edinburgh Waverley, I think I had the girl your on about between there and Newcastle (?) or she may have gone right through to London, I can't remember, but if we're on about the same woman, she hot :lol:

So I don't think she does the Aberdeen run :neutral:

She swapped at Newcastle for me too, so maybe only does Edinburgh/Glasgow to Newcastle runs?

There's a lovely blonde lady on the buffet staff who does Aberdeen runs. Buffet to Aberdeen is sparsely used in my experience (most lazy Scots tend to wait for the trolley, but I like the wee walk myself), and she kept me there for 20 minutes talking about nothing because she'd had no human contact for one and a half hours apparently :D.

YES!!! That's him! I'd been looking for him on youtube, but couldn't find him. He can't pronounce Carnoustie, but then again he probably doesn't have to say it that often.

I'VE HAD RAM LOADS OF TIMES!!

I laugh everytime :) He used to just sound like he was speaking another language. I think he got told off, as now he's stretching out his words and putting a weird accent on.

I have a recording of him on my computer.

Another video of Ram I always panic when he says "Stoeeeek awwwn Treaant" cause I always mistake it for Stockport.

I thought annoying annie was bad... :lol: can't make out a word he's saying, and they're usually very clear on Voyagers. (and Pendos when I hear them on youtube).

Might I suggest that if you want the staff to be nice to you and allow heads out etc, not to lag then off as 'fat' 'bitch' 'robot' 'disgusting' :D

PS did you mean that the guy was 'bold' or perhaps bald?

The problem tends to be that if Western Isles folk talk in their normal accent they are totally uninteligable, thus they have to take extra care in pronunciation (remember this is their second language!) and thus end up forcing it.
