Seems to be a lot of heavy delays and some cancellations on the Wakefield line right now and there’s loads of different reasons being listed on different websites
For example Northern’s X page lists it as a “late running freight train”, RTT lists it as “adverse weather configurations” and the station announcements are calling it an “object caught in the overhead electric wires”, and the PIS screens list it as a “safety inspection on a train” . Furthermore a Newcastle to Reading XC service has just come through Wakefield Westgate at walking pace (when it should be going directly to Doncaster from York, not through Leeds)
Any idea as to what’s actually going on?
