Passed through Longridge yesterday and popped into the high street pharmacy, below was an undertakers :(

Anyone seen strange couplings recently?

In Penzance, the oldest-established shop is a home furnisher's by the name of Alfred Smith - they also offer an undertaker's service, which must be very popular judged by the funerals I've been to over the last few years which they have helped organise.
The other trade which couples with undertaking down here is the building trade. Jokes about bodies thrown into cement mixers are rather frowned on!

In Bletchley there are four stations in a row.

Railway Station, Fire Station, BTP Police Station and Civil Police Station.

I thought the combination of Islamic women's clothing shop, immediately next to a sex shop (with a big mosque under construction on the other side), on Oxford Road in Reading (near Reading West station) was a bit incongruous. But now the mosque is complete, the Islamic women's clothing shop has been replaced by what you might call a "head shop" - that its name is "Skunkworks" is probably sufficient to explain its purpose.

Off topic, but the best-named shop I ever came across was near Deptford selling only garden gnomes and was called British Gnome Stores.

That's excellent :)
In Teignmouth there used to be a DIY shop (it may still be there) called 'Fork Handles',
they also owned an electrical shop around the corner called yep. 'Four Candles'
(I gnome that's a bit off topic sorry ).

Skunkworks name used to be associated with Lockheed Martin's top secret stealth aircraft factory in the US but I doubt that is what you are referring to!

"...B.T. Police Station and Civil Police Station".

B.T. Police as opposed to Civil Police. Eh? What's all that about. Are the B.T. Police a military force nowadays, have I missed something?

Perhaps he meant that BT police are not as polite.

The other day a BTP officer said "hi" to a passenger as he walked through the carriage. :s he seemed to say hi to one individual passenger, and nobody else :s

Maybe the BTP officer knew the other passenger (maybe even an off duty BTP officer?)

I thought he must have fancied her

Perhaps. But there are a lot more police officers and railway employees travelling on trains than most people might expect - travelling for leisure, commuting but not in uniform, etc...

It's highly likely that this may have been the explanation.

In Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, there are on opposite sides of the road, a Catholic convent; and a shop which deals in New Age / pagan-type kit, and acts as a "message board" / advertising point, for folk of that persuasion. I like to imagine the two being good friends with each other -- while regarding each other as well-meaning but misguided...

Still haven't had an explanation of civil police as opposed to B.T. Police.

A certain high street retailer did (or at least so they said to the local press) try to take legal action against them.

This led to them forming an official pixie line outside said retailer in Lewisham High Street...

In Hadleigh in Essex, on Vic House Corner roundabout to be exact, you can find Rules of Engagement, a firearms shop, next door to Abbey Funeral Services....

Im pretty sure you are just being pedantic and know he was separating them by using different terms to do so.
