Today at Sheffield the 1427,1447,1527,1547 were all cancelled at Sheffield and the 1634 was cancelled at Derby due to some incident at before Leicester. I was on the 1327 which was formed of a HST. When I returned 3 or 4 HSTs were stood in Derby and my train back was a HST. What on earth has happened to Meridians? And what went on before Leicester

I travelled on the 1547, left heavily loaded but on time.

The 1527 ran as a HST and was very lightly loaded when it passed me at East Midlands Parkway running about 5 minutes behind the 1547. The announcements at Sheffield were poor though as it would have been good if people were told to board the 1527 from platform 8 rather than the 1547 from 7 given that by that point they knew the stock had arrived in sheffield. There was a failed meridian in 5 that was supposed to be the 1527.

By Derby things seemed to have got more sensible and very few people boarded choosing instead to wait for the late runner.

I was on the 1457 HST from LEI to STP, this should have been the 1428 from NOT, but it started from Leicester and it had come in empty stock from the South.
An EMT staff member at LEI told me there had been problems earlier in the day in the London area.
At just past 1430 there were 3 HSTs in the platforms at LEI, just like the Good old days:lol:

Working in St Albans South box last night from 7pm onwards my colleague and both thought that the number of trains were unusually high, both HSTs and Meridians. In addition we had two eight-coach EMUs non-stop on the Up Fast with lights on and apparently carrying a few passengers - most unusual!
