Strange 323 problem

If I run late from home to cycle all the way Redditch to New Street I use the train part or all of the way. Today I noticed that despite my front wheel staying firmly still, by the time we reached New Street my wireless computer had logged a 5.1mile journey with a maximum of 59.1mph!! Its fair to say there must be some electrical interference being generated as I travel in the pantograph car. May try a different vehicle next time to see if it persists.

We are taught that the motors give of back EMF ( electro magnetic force) that may cause some interference. Apparently although I have not tried it my self a br 1 key will float if placed on the floor above the motors.

323s don't have any traction motors in the pantograph cars, they have a socking great transformer underneith.

Does the computer work off GPS? Sounds to me like it simply picked up a GPS signal for a small part of the journey?

I suspect it will be one of the typical cycle computers which uses a sensor attached to the bike and a metal thing on the wheel to calculate speed/distance.

Maybe you just dreamt you were on the train mumrar, and were actually pedalling furiously to keep up with the train
