Dunno why they have to have names instead of letters, but hey. Hoping for the best up north tomorrow, got the train tot he airport and a flight mid-afternoon, hopefully more-or-less on time and flying above all the nasty stuff down south. Thought about bringing my trip forward a day, but left it as it is. With the ground already saturated, expecting some flooding and train delays to the airport from Bolton, so setting out earlier so bus and/tram is an alternative.
Trip = Bolton > Manchester Airport > Malaga.

Trains from Portsmouth Harbour to London Waterloo via Basingstoke will change after Basingstoke, calling at Woking only. Services in the opposite direction will run as normal.

The London Waterlooville to Weymouth service will start and terminate at Bournemouth, with hourly shuttles between Bournemouth and Weymouth. Trains between London Waterloo and Salisbury will only run once an hour.

On the bright side there is a new service tomorrow

Why are we naming storms?

The naming of storms using a single authoritative system provides a consistent message and aids the communication of approaching severe weather through media partners and other government agencies. In this way the public will be better placed to keep themselves, their property and businesses safe.

Has Waterlooville finally got a station?

Mild, calm autumn's day up here, trains on time but my flight - if it follows the plan - was 1.5hrs late setting off for Marrakech (flies back from there to M/cr) and flies over the storm, so some good photographs from a window seat!Expect to depart 4pm from M/cr unless there are further delays - or they change the plane.
