Storage space is needed for a two car Class 107 Diesel Multiple Unit set

This message sent to http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/1st-gen/ yesterday by mjfroud@btinternet.com

All,

Regrettably it seems we shall have to scrap out 107 vehicles 51993 and 52012 since the Yorkshire Dales Railway want us to move the vehicles asap and all attempts to find a new home have so far proved fruitless.

If you can offer the vehicles a home please contact me at mjfroud@btinternet.com
within the next 7 days.

Alternatively, if you wish to buy these vehicles rather than offer them a home
the minimum asking price is scrap value of £8,000. You would need to have a home and we would want to dispose of both vehicles together, preferably for
preservation rather than scrap.

Please no requests for spares.

Regards

Mike Froud

If they're no bigger than O gauge I can help out.
Joking aside, hope you get something sorted out.

I don't think a 'you' applies here - the unit has, as far as I'm aware, nothing to do with Alfred Roberts.

If they can drive them down to Chesham I can drive them up the road to my driveway if they want.

Hmmm.............if you put them in your back garden, that open door would be your exit on the end of someones boot! :) :) :)

So what's the 'dirt' on the fall-out. I was intrigued by the negative comment made about the original poster.

A similar sort of handbag fight broke out down here over the Epping-Ongar Railway, which stymied its development for several years.

I understand the EOR has recently been acquired by bus enthusiast/preservationist Roger Wright, who has a number of vehicles in open storage here.

Hopefully he will get rid of all the foreign 'crap' trains laying about here too.
