Stolen Bag

Hi all, don’t know where this should go so apologies if it is in the wrong place.
Yesterday afternoon I was on a Northern service. I had gone to the toilet and left my bag on the seat next to where I was sitting at the front of the train. I got out of the toilet when we were pulling into a busy intermediate station, so decided rather than fighting through crowds in the galley I would just wait for people to get off. When I got back, I was informed by somebody sat nearby that a woman had boarded the train, grabbed my bag and ran off. I have filled in an online crime report on the BTP website. Does anyone have any more advice on what I can do?

I’ve only been to the ticket office at the station where it occurred about an hour after the incident and nothing had been handed in, however I haven’t contacted Northern themselves

Have you contacted the local police in case the woman who ran off with the bag has dumped it off railway premises? Although TBH the police don't seem to have a good track record with reuniting lost property with its owner.

I’ve been down to the local police station but they said that it is a BTP matter and the only thing I could do is report it lost, or push the BTP to check they are reviewing the CCTV. I’ve done a walk around the station and local area and there was no sign of the bag.
