Stoke to London Off Peak

I've an off peak return £65 (any TOC/route) from Stoke on Trent wanting to arrive in London around 10:30 on a weekday. Can't do this with Virgin but EMT off peak seems valid on 09:01 off Derby so could I use it on this? The getting to Derby bit during peak isn't a problem as I've a friend driving that way who could drop me off.

If you mean the £65.80 Off-Peak Return, then as far as I can see you cannot arrive at St Pancras until 1129.

To expand on bb21's point above, the restriction(s) that apply to a given journey are those that apply to the ticket actually held, rather than the journey you're making.

In this case, an Off-Peak Return between Stoke-on-Trent and London carries restriction 2C when Stoke-on-Trent is the origin on the outward portion, and restriction 9I when London Terminals is the origin.

Essentially, these are the same restriction but with Outward and Return reversed, so for a journey into London St Pancras such tickets aren't valid on trains scheduled to arrive before 11:29, which is roughly in line with the EMT Super Off-Peak restriction to/from London (Codes CI and CJ.)
