Heard Stockport had some problems early on this evening. Am I right in thinking it was signal problems at all, or what is something else.

Also heard one or two trains went between Slade Lane Junc and Wilmslow.

Yes, signalling between Stockport and Cheadle Hulme was the reason given.

My wifes usual train, 17.35 to Euston, was diverted via Styal line with first stop Stoke apparently - interesting use of Crewe - Stoke link!
