Stockport to Dundee cost?

Hi,

I'm meant to be in Dundee by evening time on Saturday.

I've looked at a few fares. I'm looking to leave on Friday evening or Saturday morning, or even happy with a sleeper - ideally via 1st class.

Any suggestions on the cheapest, most Value for money tickets?

On Saturday 8th March, there are £53 Stockport-Dundee 1st class Advance tickets (no through standard class tickets that I could see: just some between Preston & Haymarket whose advantage is cancelled out by the non-Advance tickets at either end of the journey). £53 is cheaper than the cheapest split of standard class singles suggested by trainscanbecheaper.

The £53 tickets are valid on the 1246 or 1446 from Stockport changing at Preston and Haymarket. Also on the 1026 from Stockport changing additionally at Manchester Piccadilly.
