Stockport to Crewe

Hello.
I will be travelling with friends from Stockport to Crewe tomorrow and I was wondering if there was any type of groupsave ticket available on that route? The cheapest ticket I can see is the Virgin only ticket at £9.60 return per person!?. There will be 7 people travelling.
Also on these tickets, are you allowed to break your journey on the out-bound portion of my return to ticket as I would like to make a stop at wilmslow for an hour to see a friend.

Does the same apply in the reverse direction ? (i.e. Crewe - Stockport return). If so would be very useful to me - I normally rebook at Stockport (onto GM Day Ranger) to save money !
