Too young to remember Stockport Tiviot Dale station.

Where in the town centre was it located, exactly?

Presumably the station site and/or connecting trackbed now part buried under the M60 motorway.

So, more or less diagonally opposite (across the River Mersey) from the present day Sainsbury's store, and the station site largely obliterated by the M60.

Which side of the former site is the still extant platform?

It's in the trees, to the west of the M60 It's accessible on foot
