Stevenage to York, changing at Doncaster

On Sunday 3rd March I need to get from Stevenage to York, but I'm wanting to change at Doncaster, and not Peterborough, and nearly all the trains on East Coast won't allow that, attached is a typical journey on the planner:



Here are the two trains involved:

1S27

There is sufficient time to change at either Doncaster or Peterborough (I just checked against the minimum times), but the East Coast website refuses to let me change at Doncaster. Is there any way to change this?

Can you not specify to avoid changing at Peterborough?

Selecting 'Avoid Peterborough' on East Coast gives me no fares (since changing at Doncaster still goes through Peterborough!), and I don't think there's a box to specify where to change?

You would actually save money splitting your ticket at Peterborough

Aha, that gets me the itinerary, but it can't offer an advance ticket for it!

This is why I tell people to book from a human being, not a computer!

TPE routes are a classic. They all change at Manchester or York, whereas Huddersfield is the logical connection. Same platform. Yet everyone I have told said the same thing. On line booking will not let me do that!
