Step Free (ish) Kings cross to clapham junction

Hi Aall,

don't know if i've put this in the right place or not, please feel free to move it if not

On the 24th june, i'm going to be heading to get a coach at clapham junction to get a lift to glastonbury festival, and will be coming from Kings Cross at about midday (am travelling down from lincolnshire, but that bit of the journey is no difficulties).
I'll have a few rucksacs, and also a sack borrow with tent and such like on it, so, would like to have as few stairs/escalators as possible to reduce the hassle. I've tried putting it into the tfl route planner, but that says to go to london bridge then waterlooo east then walk to waterloo, and train to clapham junction, this just seems odd to me... Any suggestions at all on the best route for me, which will reduce hassle for me, and will stop me blocking other passengers and making them getting angry.

To be honest, that sounds like a good route. It is pretty easy to get along that route the only other way I could think of is going via the Circle line from Kings Cross to Embankment then crossing the bridge to Waterloo, but that is a pretty long walk! You could also walk to Caledonian Road and Barnsbury (if that has lifts?) and take a slow Overground train all the way round to Clapham Junction!

Walk across to St Pancras, there's lifts to the Thameslink platforms. Get a Thameslink to London Bridge - cross platform for any Charing cross train; that will stop at Waterloo East. Walk to Waterloo main - it's a ramp up to the footbridge and there's a lift down at the main end.

Not knowing london, it had seemed quite an odd way (from my basic knowledge)! Will try and not get paniccy when i do it!

There is step free access from the Southbound Bakerloo line at Waterloo however I get the feeling they are replacing the lifts there until the end of next month. There is step free access at Kings + to the Victoria line, and at Oxford Circus it's step free onto the Bakerloo.

They are. I think the route specified in the initial post would probably be best

What about Victoria line to Victoria and then Southern to Clapham Junction?

Victoria won't be step-free until ~2016, and that'll only be to the new Cardinal Place ticket hall. 2018 for step-free access to the Victoria Station ticket hall.

Vauxhall mainline is now step-free, and Vauxhall underground will be step-free by the end of 2015.

Obviously none of this helps right now, but it's good to know!
