Basically on a real Class 86 and the one from the standalone Class 86 pack, to reduce power there is a notch on the tap changer that automatically reduces current going to the motors but on the 86 provided with the WCML North addon you have to reduce the power manually by tapping the D key repeatedly. Which as I found doesn't work well on a stone age laptop...
As for the 377 CCTV I don't think it is possible within the current game engine for it to display CCTV images on the in-cab monitors.
What is the Class 86 run down bug exactly?
Also, quick qu on the 377 in L2B - is there anywhere where the screens on the right will show a picture as if from CCTv, rather than about no picture being expected?
You're not supposed to do it like that. If you zoom in on the tap changer you'll see one of the settings is marked "run down". That''s the elusive setting. For some reason when it was programed the position for the tap changer handle for the run down setting was set at 2 or 3% (which does nothing) instead of the around 28% it should be to have the handle in the correct position to run down. This can be fixed yourself by editing a file, like I said before. To be fair, it isn't ideal on a reasonably new PC either :P
(I don't even attempt it on my (by TS2013 standards) stone age laptop!
I have been able to get the levels to drop on an 86 by moving the power hadle to zero - but it takes aaaages to drop and even then needs the power circuit resetting
As for the 377, I assumed that may be the case
You're doing it wrong. The 86 doesn't have a standard throttle. It has notches that have to be increased gradually or the loco shuts down. There are guides you can Google and some YouTube videos that show you how.Assuming this bug is definitely about driving a class 86 while accelerating, the problem I have experienced but I have managed to work it, where the following must be done:
-Put the accelerator up to 100% to get it going.
-Bring down to 60% in early stages under 40mph, or the whole accelerator will stop for a while.
-Space out separate accelerations while driving, when the speed is high enough, doesn't matter whether the accelerator is 100, 60 or 3%, the rate and potential of speed increase is the same.
Bit of a hint for you Brad465, there's an ammeter in the cab that has a green, yellow and red section and when you take power the needle needs to be kept in the green or yellow sections. The stopping of acceleration you're seeing is the power feed to the transformer being cut out at too high a current which is when the needle on the ammeter stays in the red section for too long.
The 86 was the biggest challenge for me to get to grips with and the run down notch being useless on the WCML model doesn't help.
The upgrade to Edinburgh - Glasgow is also released along with it. There are also three new scenarios from myself in the workshop that utilise the newly scenerised areas on the route.![]()
