Apparently tomorrow there is a steam charter coming through Hartlepool. Don't have official times, but I shall be at work when it comes through.

Alongside this are the additional Sunderland - Hartlepool - Darlington trains, too.

When I checked the Live departures yesterday there was a service apparently from Stockton to Bristol Temple Meads, operated with NXEA.

That'll be the answer! Must have stabled it at Stockton sidings before the return journey.

As far as I'm aware the stock off the steam stables in the useless platform at Hartlepool which Leander disappears off to turn round. It heads back to York, Harrogate etc at 18.30, I shall be on it both ways.

UPDATE:
Leander and 37516 departed York for Hartlepool about 10 late. Appears the stock is now going to be turned.

Saw it going through the disused platform at Hartlepool today, went as far as just before Eaglescliffe station and then saw it around Seaton Carew on the way back round on the shuttle.

Due to a cable theft between York and Leeds the steam has sadly been cancelled at York on its return. Unit back home and missed a run I was looking forward to, not the best end to the day.

eeh, it caused quite a few delays mind! It was a gamble to get the Newcastle & Middlesbrough trains through before it, or the platform would have been too full. Was good when it finally came through though.

I saw cable theft and immediately thought of somewhere between Hartlepool and Middlesbrough! Thankfully the b*****ds were'nt out in the past few days to spoil the Tall Ships.

I was in pulling into Leeds Train Station (on my way to Bradford) on the 9th of August (sometime around 11am). As I was pulling in, pulling in from the opposite direction, on a platform near by, was a large red steam engine (complete with matching vintage carriages).

Is this the train you are talking about? And if it is, can you tell me a little about it?

I've been scouring the net since to little avail. I don't really know a lot about trains so I can't be more helpful. I just saw it and wanted to know more.
