Stations with 'too low' platforms?

Dawlish, and other stations along that line, but only where the Pacers are concerned, the HSTs sit at a more normal height. The dispatcher at Dawlish is very good and gets the ramp out for my elderly mum, otherwise she'd have great difficulty boarding a train there.

Does anyone else remember Settle having wooden step-blocks to get people in and out because of the low platform/high trackbed?

From memory i think all the S&C stations had similar problems when they were re-opened in 1986. Not that i minded though; the fact that they were re-opened with the line still under threat of closure was a miracle in itself!

My Grandmother had massive difficulty getting off at the northbound WCML platform at Lichfield Trent Valley (and she's not disabled, she was fine with the stairs). It's one of those lovely platforms where the track is tilted, rather like Wolverton and Berkhamsted which are both infamous for anything that stops there looking like the APT used to. I don't know if anybody here can remember what Milbrook on the Marston Vale line used to be like before they rebuilt it.

As is Earlestown, but thats probably to do with it being on a curve!

Chester's Island platform is ridiculously low, I've seen people have to literally clamber onto the train, It must be about 2 foot too low.
