Stations with NO Platform 1 (or a platform A)

Similar to 'Stations with one platform only' but this time it is a station with no platform numbered 1.

Please include a link to the national rails 'stations made easier' page to prove your point.

See it has a platform 2, 3 & 4 but there is no Platform ONE - there fore it can go on the list.

If national rail says it has a Platform 1 then sorry its wrong!

Not quite the same, but Waverley doesn't have platforms 5 or 6.
There are 2 tracks between 4 and 7, which used to be the old Motorail platforms, but they're now just used as sidings.

Oban's two platforms are numbered 3 and 4; 1 and 2 closed long ago and have been demolished. National Rail's plan isn't quite right, as it shows the far ends of 3 and 4 numbered as 1 and 2.

Quite a lot of single platform stations display no platform number. So I suppose you could say that these stations have no platform 1. Same goes for stations which have closed...

I don't see any problem with opening an old thread - not all of us visit the site regularly enough to have our say every day or week. It also saves starting up a new thread that already exists and finally, if you have a problem with it, then commenting in it yourself just makes your point look stupid.

Oh and back on topic - Huntingdon (kind of). Platform 1 is a terminating platform at the southern end of the station. 2 and 3 are on the main line. 1 is only used on very rare occasions - used to be only used for weekend services when engineering work towards Peterborough prevented FCC (or WAGN as it was then) services starting further north and running through, so they used to stable a double set in platform 1 on a Friday night for use early saturday morning.

Without checking, I don't believe there's access to Platform 1 at Huntingdon from either Down line, so its use would be fairly limited in any case!

Correct - it's why only the first train of the weekend started there. The only place to cross over from the down line is south of The Offords - far too far to be of practical use.
