Who outside of the WM has heard of Oldbury ......
Dudley fair enough.....
Sandwell....normally top's any list related to urban deprivation etc.
ps I used to live in Old Hill (part of Sandwell)![]()
Who outside the West Midlands has heard of Coseley, Tipton, or Smethwick - all on the same line and the latter of which I often hear mispronounced (the "w" is silent) by non-locals... likewise the numerous stations on the other lines serving what are basically suburbs of Birmingham?
One could argue that Smethwick Galton Bridge is the most important station between Wolverhampton and Dudley so quite why they decided Sandwell & Dudley needed a name to encompass a much larger area than it actually serves passenger-wise, is beyond me.
