Stations with GOOD real ale bars?

Hi, I'm off for a 14-day all line rover trip next month, and I would like to visit some good real ale bars at stations along my journey. I know of quite a few, including York, Doncaster, Grantham, Lancaster, Sowerby Bridge, the two at Huddersfield, Dewsbury, and Stalybridge. Just remembered... Bridlington and Cleethorpes (x2)

Most of the above I have already visited, but I'm looking for new ones to me. If anyone has any recommendations, I would be grateful.

The Station Buffet at Bridlington is closed.

Carnforth has 2 real ale outlets within station buildings. Plus Harrogate and Ilkley (although from memory this only has 1 real ale).

Around these parts, and on a station, I can recommend Codsall Station Pub.

If you'll accept very near to stations rather than on them, then it's sister pub The Great Western in Wolverhampton is a must, as I'm sure others will attest. In a similarly grey area is The King & Castle at Kidderminster - it's on a station, but the Severn Valley's Kidderminster station, rather than the mainline one. Only just over the car park though.

Hartlepool has the Rat Race micro-pub, or at least it did the last time I was there. There is a pub on the station at Knaresborough though I haven't been in. Harrogate Tap at Harrogate, Sheffield Tap at Sheffield.

Not sure if you would be on the Tyne and Wear metro but there are some station pubs there, including at Tynemouth and Monkseaton.

Tap room on the concourse at Manchester Victoria.

If you'll accept pubs which are very near stations, the list expands quite a lot. I always really liked the Fishery at Hemel Hempstead and the Paper Mill at Apsley. There's about a billion good pubs within 100yards of Newcastle.

Sheffield Tap and Newcastle Tap, both on the stations and worth a visit, particularly Sheffield.

Platform 2 at Tynemouth has a good selection of real ales and is within the station building itself, and I've heard good things about the "Left Luggage Room" at Monkseaton a few stops further round the coast.

Indeed, Wetherspoons are always welcome as there are so many within and just outside stations from Pwhelli to Liverpool Street, and many between. They have done a very good job on the recently opened one at Fulham Broadway.

Down south maybe try Seaford and Glynde stations? Both have bars within the station buildings.
The latter, by the way, also has the newly reopened Trevor Arms next to it

Spooner's bar is in the Harbour station (F&WHR). Unless its changed, the brewery pub is The Australia on the High Street (named after a sailing ship, not directly after the country).

Seconding Kidderminster; the King and Castle is a lovely little pub.

Not exactly on the station, but The Hope, Carshalton (London pub of the year again) is just a two minute walk away.

The Waiting Room on the Down platform at Durham station isn't bad, but The Station House at the bottom of the station approach road is one of the best CAMRA rated pubs in the NE

A short walk from Exeter St David's is The Imperial, a wonderful Wetherspoons, which I'm assuming was a hotel at some point. One of the main bar areas has arched cast iron frames with a huge window. It's really cool, massive garden there too. Also it's really great how Wetherspoons are opening pubs in the big London stations. I went to the one in Waterloo the other week, was such a relaxing environment when I finally found it! Euston Wetherspoons is also pretty decent. The Wetherspoons in Lime Street also. The one in Edinburgh uses the old ticket office at Waverley.

I think my favourite station pub of all is the one in Lancaster Station. Just nice decoration inside and a good outside space to watch trains go past.
