Stations which need a good revamp

Newport. A lot of money was spent ruining it!

Absolutely. Quite how the WAG thought that by providing a leaky, opaque, "worm" of a footbridge whose architecture clashed with the rest of the station, and simultaneously moving the entrance/exit further away from the town centre they would improve the station is beyond me.

What it needed was something in keeping with the existing GWR-era buildings which are quite attractive; but now partly out of use/boarded up because of the closure of the old entrance and ticket office.

So, in short, the new bit is ugly & dis-functional, and the old bit which could have been easily improved, has been made worse.

Quite an achievement really; just shows money isn't always the answer....

Redcar Central needs a good sort out! Afterall Saltburn has its information displays now, Redcar (being the bigger station) should also be kept to the same standard!
