Not that I advocate it being closed, but Deansgate station in Manchester is starting to stick out like a sore thumb. I know it is well used (especially as an alighting point), but it seems to be the only station in central Manchester that isn't having a bucket load of money thrown at it. With the through platforms at Piccadilly being expanded to 4 to match the 4 at Oxford Road, Deansgate surely poses a bottleneck by remaining at just 2? Additionally it isn't a long walk from Oxford Road.
