Which stations if any will be handed over to TfL to manage?

It's a difficult one to speculate as most on the route appear to share with another TOC such as FGW, Greater Anglia (or the new franchisee/LO), Southeastern and LUL in the core.

Abbey Wood could become a London Overground managed station before hand if expected TfL replace Southeastern's metro services.

I would expect those on the GEML that currently have Metro services only will become Crossrail stations, that'd be Maryland, Forest Gate, Manor Park, Seven Kings, Goodmayes, Chadwell Heath, Gidea Park, Harold Wood and Brentwood.

On the GWML Acton Main Line, Burnham, Ealing Broadway, Hanwell, Hayes & Harlington, Iver, Langley, Southall, Taplow, West Drayton and West Ealing will transfer to Crossrail. Not sure about the eastern branches.

Bear in mind that the Crossrail franchise actually starts in 2015, initially just by taking over the GE metro services. Then GW stoppers transfer to the Crossrail franchise in 2016. I'd imagine the stations would change operators at that point.

Could be like LO in South London where Norwood Junction or West Croydon for example I think have more Southern Services then LO services, but are actually managed by LO. So I would expect all the metro stations on GE including Ilford, Romford and Shenfield (Stratford is already LUL managed) to become Crossrail managed. Actually maybe not Romford because of the Upminsters there but who knows? Would make sense in my head for the Romford Upminsters to become Crossrail too!

Romford - Upminster - It is quite a difficult one. Personally, I would see nothing wrong with passing it over to the Underground with the branch being so short but it seems a waste of a lengthy unit. There is little to gain from Crossrail units being used on it. Personally, I can see it becoming part of Crossrail with a unit coming from London Overground.

Not according to the GW ITT. Stations transfer to Crossrail at the timetable change date in December 2017. Crossrail takes over Heathrow Connect in May 2018 and it's GW services in December 2019.

Fair enough, I was going off dated info it seems.

Could it not be run by c2c? (Although in al likelihood I can see it staying with GA.)

Interestingly, the Railway Gazette article includes this info;
The concessionaire may be also be required to operate train services and manage stations on routes further out to Reading and/or Ebbsfleet, and/or on additional routes from London Liverpool Street to Chingford, Enfield Town and Cheshunt. This would be dependent on future decisions by the Department for Transport. Crossrail rolling stock could also be used instead of existing EMUs to provide extra peak capacity between Shenfield and London Liverpool Street.
Although I'm unclear if that's just speculation by the Railway Gazette, or contained in the OJEC notice.

This line is a bit of an anomaly in London- along with the FGW Greenford service at the other side of the Crossrail core. Both would be ideal to avoid congestion by terminating services but don't really have the demand for a full 8/12-car Crossrail set. Transferring both to the District Line would appear to be a solution but would require extensive work at Ealing Broadway and conversion of the wiring at the East end to 4th rail.

The Romford-Upminster would be ideal as part of LO, but would be awkward as a remote outpost, unless the Goblin once it's wired could be extended from Barking to Upminster (sharing with the District as happens at Richmond).

But incorporating Romford Upminster into either the District or GOB line would require a reversal, which is undesirable on a suburban metro line.

That's true, and there's no room for an Upminster avoiding curve which would defeat the object somewhat anyway! I still wonder if that (not the curve!) might be the 'least-worst' option though.

It was a surprise when LO didn't get Peckham Rye, Queens Road Peckham or Denmark Hill when the SLL opened. PR has 4tph Southern, 4tph Southeastern and 4tph LO. QR has the same minus Southeastern and Denmark Hill has equal tph between SET and LO. Although it has to be said that Southern have improved the facilities at Peckham Rye when I visited the station on Saturday.

Denmark Hill however could still end up under London Overground management if Southeastern goes to TfL.

So I have since found out that Maryland- Brentwood will be Crossrail managed stations. Shenfield will remain GA controlled and will have an extra platform added.
