Patronage is (in normal times) incredibly high on the last arrival from Manchester on a Saturday night.

A train I generally try to avoid !!!! It’s the pits

Goole after dark has never appealed. Been approached numerous times by odd-looking characters asking for money/a cigarette/etc.

you know somewhere must be truly grim when people from Hull talk disparagingly about it. My mate Andy has lived in Hull all his life and always refers to the people of Goole as Gooligans. The station didn’t seem to bad the one time I’ve been there, certainly not as bad as the town centre.

Manchester Piccadilly’s platforms 13 and 14 are absolutely awful.

Inside Piccadilly station is much easier, staff are friendly and a random staff member knew exactly which train I was after, a lady I bumped into getting a XC Voyager to New Street ended up getting every single train I got that day (another XC Voyager to Exeter St David’s) by the time we both got on the same Pacer to Exmouth we had a quick chat and it turned out we were both headed to the same Haven site, it was a lovely coincidence.

I don't know where you drink, but pubs selling just lager are the ones that are closing. There's more real ale choice available now than ever in the last 30 years and that's the way things seem to be going.

They're only awful because they are running a service that was meant to be split across four plaforms. For some reason DfT thought it was a good idea to cancel the track capacity for service improvements and still require those improvements to go ahead. At rush hour they are more packed than much of the London Underground.

Changing platforms at Gatwick Airport.
The station has an easy entrance and exit to and from the airport but changing platforms I find is a nightmare.
Some platforms have exit only escalators.
The signs are ambiguous such as one staircase pointing to platform 7 only yet has access to all other platforms.
