Has anyone mentioned the stations near the sea/beaches between Arbroath & Dundee? E.g. Balmossie.

Starcross is an interesting one. There is basically only a fence between the Westbound platform and either the sea or the path to the ferry jetty (Starcross-Exmouth Ferry) - depending on where you choose to stand. The land end of the jetty has NR signage and the only access from land is basically through the station. It's a fantastic spot in good weather, but I do wonder how the fancy new help points cope with a marine environment...

The last third of the Lisbon to Cascais line is almost like Exeter to Newton Abbot!

"Fortunate" to have Barry Island on the doorstep although the station is a fraction of its former size. Shame the line to Porthcawl went as it was next to Coney Beach where the big car park is.

Rhoose for the airport is just above a small beach unlike Llantwit Major which is a long walk from the beach there.

Brighton apart, you couldnt get closer than the Mumbles Railway?

St Bees in Cumbria.

OK, strictly speaking it's not next to the beach, but not too far away.

One of my favourite wayside stops.

Also Ramsgate Harbour - would have been very useful for the beach were it still open.

All stations between Pwllhelli and dovey juction although the 2 hr frequency could slow you down :)

My favourite by miles is aberdovey straight into the dunes of a gem of a beach and there is also an 18 hole mini golf on the landward side of the tracks. We love it!

Hest Bank, long closed and not really a beach but it was right next to the sea. It is the only place on the WCML where the coast is visible.
