Making enquiries for a journey from Gloucester to the new station at Leven, which opened in June last year, it appears that the stations at Leven and Cameron Bridge on the new branch to Leven have not been added to the National Rail Enquries app. These stations have been added to the ScotRail app!

A communication failure within Network Rail on updating the timetable database. How can it be updated to include these new stations and trains that run to them?

Can confirm Leven and Cameron Bridge are both searchable on the older 9.6.5.2 version of the app

I suspect the OP hasn't updated their app for a long while. The last version of the "legacy" app 9.6.6 (iPhone) is correctly showing the stations.

The NRE app for iPad, which is still the old design and hasn't been updated in 3 years (version 1.9.2) doesn't show either station, nor other recent additions like Portway Park & Ride or Marsh Barton.

Possibly the new app is not supported on your iPad (or should I say, the new app may not support your model of iPad) so you're still on an older version which can't update?

There are screenshots of the new-style app for iPad on the App Store website (I don't have an iPad myself to confim)

I don't own an iPad so can't check, but just based on the app listings page (https://apps.apple.com/gb/developer/national-rail/id512167281) my educated guess would be that the old app was a different app submission for iPad and iPhone and the new app a single app for both platforms. I suspect you'd need to uninstall the old iPad app and install the new app. But as I said I don't have one to confirm sadly!

Have discovered that the app version for iPads currently is 1.9.2 while the version on iPhones is 10.3.4!
NR must ensure that the iPad version is updated at the same time as all other updates are issue. NR been advised of this discrepancy.

The App Store page says the latest version requires iPadOS 15.0 or later. Do you definitely have that version or newer? If so then yes NR to sort it out.

Mind you if you have an older version, for a public service really NR should support older versions better rather than deciding not to bother..?

My iPad is running iPadOS 18.3 (22D63) which was updated in the last couple of weeks or so. Escalated the issue to NR and have had a response noting the message and they will investigate furthe. Let’s see what happens!

I just successfully downloaded the App linked in post #10 to my iPad, it is version 10.3.4. I‘d agree with @WelshBluebird it’s now a common iPhone/iPad App.

But having successfully got it downloaded I’ll now delete it as I normally just use their website…

Nothing will happen. As has already been said, the app you are using is obsolete and hasn't been updated for years. If you want the latest version you will need to uninstall, then install the new app manually.

Thank you for the advice and have now downloaded the app as suggested by @WelshBluebird.
Heard from Network Rail today and they advised that the matter is being escalated to their Customer Experience Team. Let’s see how they view the matter!

Does anyone know if it's possible to download the older version of the app? I detest the new layout one with every fibre of my existence!!

On Android it is simple enough by downloading the APK from secondary sources such as

No idea about Apple devices.

I require putting my bank details in for a £0.00 transaction but it's declining it for some reason.
Why would you provide your bank details for this?

I would freeze your card and contact your bank.

Erm probably because your bank account will be empty shortly! Any app from a non legit store is always risky but one asking you for a £0.00 transaction is a giant red flag with alarm bells and klaxons going off!

Specifically it's often used to set up a 'continuous payment authority' against a card, which allows a merchant to take money as and when they feel like it, of amounts they determine.

Well this is it, I'm not going to go to such troubles just for an older version of an app!!

Do NOT put in payment details, you have obviously clicked on an ad of some sort.

All you need do is go to the second page I linked, dismiss any pop-ups and cookie consent nonsense, scroll down and click on the blue "Download APK" button, then when downloaded open and install.
