Well, we could have avoided this conundrum way back if Tenby had been followed up by Yorton............

A station ending in 'y' seems to block any further progress on a route, so, seen as Trimley's nearest station starting in 'Y' is probably Yalding in Kent, from Yorton, I'll say Nantwich.

Location
Hitchin
Only place I could find that you could possibly get to from Harlech is Hadnall, and that's closed. One change could take you to Hereford.

Manningtree is ever so slightly closer (in miles and chains):
Hoveton & Wroxham to Manningtree (via Norwich station): 64.23
Hoveton & Wroxham to Manea (via Norwich station and Ely West Curve): 68.58
So Manningtree is 4 miles 35 chains closer.
Good luck finding one for 'E' on the Great Eastern ML!

Just seen the above post for Elmswell, in which case:

Littleport!

The post above yours ;)

Ah, I edited mine to reflect what had been said in 4SKRT’s post at exactly the same time you posted your post to tell me to. We really should do one from Birmingham New St, Manchester Piccadilly or Edinburgh Waverley to create more options; we've been all over the place with the last two!

2,000th post!!!!! :D :D

In order to escape the restrictive confines of East Anglia, I'm going back in time to the 1980s when the European used to run Harwich > Peterborough > Nottingham > Manchester > Edinburgh/Glasgow and nominate Lockerbie as the next one.

Although strictly speaking Harwich International was called Harwich Parkeston Quay in those days, which leads us back down the Y cul de sac again.

I'll need to find out where this place 'Deleted' is so that I can find a nearby station beginning with D ;)

Rannoch. Another H required!

You've made my last post look a bit ridiculous now!
