While searching for a nationwide station usage map, I discovered this amazing map, created by Dr Tip Jupp from the University of Exeter.
Station Usage 1998 to 2023
It's very interesting to compare the trends nationally.
What exceptionally interesting results can you find? Is there evidence of local investment causing rail usage to skyrocket or vice versa? Are there any anomalies e.g. split ticketing?
I'm interested by the results on the Southend line where Rayleigh and Hockley's station usage figures seem to have nosedived from 2006-2015 before recovering.
