Station pubs (part two?)

We've got a topic regarding pubs near arches and pubs in London, but couldn't find any topics for the rest of the country? (Apart from one that is old and closed).

Interested to know where you've been / where you'd recommend?

I've been to these (and maybe a few more I've forgotten)

* Aberystwyth
* Sheffield Tap
* Leeds
* Liverpool Lime Street
* Bridgnorth (probably my favourite!)
* Liverpool Street London
* Euston Tap (although not sure that counts as it's not actually in the station!)
* Sutton Coldfield (one I’d forgotten until mentioned on 3rd page)

I believe a new tap room / community space has opened up on the WMT/WMR line at Henley in Arden. Not been there yet though.

Ooh, I forgot Leeds.

I'm heading up to York soon, so might have to check that one out.

Manchester Victoria Tap that opened October 2023 (?).

Tite & Locke on Lancaster Station.

Both very good if you like your beer.

Obviously there's the train pub crawl that visits the lovely pubs and bars on the platforms at Dewsbury, Huddersfield (x2) and Stalybridge, plus other nearby ones in Marsden, Mirfield etc

Worksop has The Mallard on the station; not sure if it has platform access.

Stoke on Trent has a bod cafe bar with platform access (owned by local Titanic Brewery?)

Hartlebury has The Tap House run by The Hartlebury Brewing Co.

Cambridge has The Old Ticket Office

Not a current station but the old Rushden (Northamptonshire) station now has a bar in some of the rooms.

I find I need the pub first, then the toilet next.

Re Hartlebury, I was trying to remember where that tap house was. I knew about it but couldn't remember the station name.

Any number of nice pubs near Leeds station, but The Hop is in the Dark Arches underneath the station and it is very nice indeed. Often have some good bands on too.

Leeds tap is also civilised and you can sit on the roof garden and watch the trains.

Nottingham: Brew Tavern (formerly BeerHeadZ), situated in the old Cabmans Shelter. Reopened in March 2024 under new ownership.

The Victory pub at Waterloo (main) is quite posh, however it does a decent pint of ale, and you can sit out on the mezzanine with a lovely view of the concourse and trains.

There is a door off the platform into the Mallard at Worksop station.

Harrogate Tap. Nice selection of ales when I was there last. I think it’s run by the same people as the York Tap.

The little pub in the taxi office outside Nottingham station has some decent beers.

The Ramblers inn at Edale is also a nice stop off.

The S&C has has some good ones - Station Inn at Ribblehead. I also often pop into the Midland Hotel at Appleby.

The pub on Bridgnorth station was mentioned up thread so it’s only right and proper that the King and Castle at Kidderminster station gets a mention.

About the only reason I can think of for visiting Cleethorpes.

The Northern daily service gives just enough time to visit both establishments and then make a prompt departure

A bit outside the OP's original question, but an honourable mention should go to the Cafe/pub at Bridlington, even although its been closed since Christmas 2019 and unlikely to reopen according to local sources.

The collection of Railway memorabilia built up by the owner over the years was impressive, and complemented the retail areas, which I assume dated from the station build in 1912.

Its a shame but in the current economic climate it seems that it just cant be made to pay. The property agents for Northern, who run the station have tried to market it, but so far with no success.
