Bromley Cross has a pedestrian crossing.

Non-TVM tickets on sale on the southbound platform. There is a crossing controlled by magnetically operated gates between northbound and southbound.

At one time, almost every (non-terminal) station needed a barrow crossing, even if there was a footbridge - although some were "staff only". That was the only way to get platform barrows, luggage trolleys, etc. between platforms. (Until the 1960s, almost every staffed station dealt with parcels traffic.)

Penrith, on the WCML, still has a crossing, as the underpass isn't suitable for wheelchairs etc.

They're nearly finished the new over bridge complete with lifts though, a long overdue addition at this station.

Did Penistone ever have a footbridge? Even when Woodhead was open?

Penistone had a subway for access to the Manchester bound platform. I'm not sure about the current platforms on the Huddersfield line.

I was at Gomshall a few years ago and quite surprised at this being the only way to access the westbound platform. It's Surrey commuter land, not deep country. No lights or such (are there now?). Visibility not good due to curvature, and frequent nonstop through there.

I've never noticed any signs telling pedestrians to use a telephone before crossing.

Is there any requirement for train drivers to sound a horn on the approach to the station (which would compensate somewhat for the poor sightlines at the crossing).

There indeed appear to be none, although I see it's gained a garden gate with a spring on it since I was there.

You do have to wonder about the standards used for Risk Assessments of such points. When I saw it my first thought was "how ever could this have passed".

The sign "Do not cross behind trains in the platform" is pretty much a nonsense, as all passengers alighting from westbound trains are going to need to cross the line behind the train they just arrived on, with the eastbound line obscured.

No, it's a cop out. All the passengers will be there before the doors even close. And a Class 165 seems to take half a minute between revving up the engines and starting to move at all.

Glenfinnan is one as well. Unless you want to walk under the viaduct and all the way around!

There is a pedestrian tunnel under the line, a hundred metres or so to the East of Glenfinnan station, i.e. much closer to the station than the Viaduct. I doubt it's used very much though!

In which case if they don't wait it'll be their problem, as the sign is there, if a passing train they don't see kills them.

It provides wheelchair access to Platforms 2 and 3 - there's no lift. I've seen passengers with buggies or prams use it as well.

I can't think of any ones without barriers left on on the West Coast Main Line or the East Coast Main Line but I am sure there has to be one.

They could do a South Milford and close the crossing making any passengers wanting access to the other platform walk via a road underpass
