I am really keen to move into the rail industry and would like to start with station management - however even for a "flagship" station it turns out the salary is 25-28k. Assuming the more conservative basic, what is the likely enhancement (if any?) for unsocial hours? Also what are the likely shift patterns?

any advice greatly appreciated
cheers

I've been lead to believe that SWT Management grade don't get any enhancements regardless of what shift they work, I don't think they get overtime either. They do get generous holiday allowances and an easy job tbh though!

I think maybe it's been faulsly advertised with either the wrong salary, or it's actually a standard Duty Manager post as opposed to Flagship one. The reason I say this is because Flagship Station Managers are like senior Station Managers, and the salary tends to be around £40k pa. Salisbury is a flagship station, so maybe they want standard DSMs, for a flagship station? If that makes sense! I think it's recruitment giving incorrect info again personally.

i thought the 25-28k seemed a little tight for a flagship station, 40k is more reasonable
HR were not overly helpful.

any ideas on the likely shift pattern?

thanks

Our DSM's at Clapham do 6:30am-2:30pm or 2:30-10:30pm, they rotate between these. I'm not sure if Salisbury operates different shift times.
