Good Afternoon, I have been offered an interview for said role, is there anyone on here who who does this role, or has done it, who can help me with what theyre looking for in interviews.

Also if anyone could give me a rundown on a typical day in the life of said role ?

is it office / control room based on station floor based ?

What strengths do they look for ? any useful tips ?

You would be based in the control room at New St. It would be shift based so expect earlies / late / nights of likely to be 8hr or 12hr (weekend) lengths.

The role would be a mix of duties including communicating with station staff including dealing with incidents. You would be making phonecalls with route controls / TOC controls / signaller as required for a whole host of things. You would be locally in charge of the CIS including making platform alterations, adding local messages for disruption and so on. You’d also be responsible for live and scheduled PAs.

It’s the busiest through station in the country so you’d need to need to be able to prioritise, work well under pressure, have good communication skills and attention to detail.
