All heavy rail railway stations in Great Britain have three letter alpha codes. They can be listed on timetables, departure boards, station information services and used on the online journey planners.

The rules are as follows:-

1) The code must be from a heavy-rail station in Great Britain.

Stations on the Docklands Light Railway and light rail systems on all the tramway systems (some admittedly having three-letter station codes that are accepted by planners) are NOT acceptable as postings upon this quiz.

ZDB which has been offered as a clue to solve is in fact the Docklands Light Railway station of Deptford Bridge

Therefore, that posting with great sadness in my "heart of ice" must be deemed invalid.

Stations on the London Underground, Tyne and Wear Metro, Docklands Light Railway and ALL light rail systems including all the tramway systems (some admittedly having three-letter station codes that are accepted by planners) are NOT acceptable as postings upon this quiz.

IMPORTANT NOTE OF CLARIFICATION

The recent matter that caused a query on this quiz and was resolved has now been addressed in a PM to the forum quizmaster transportphoto to request the addition of the words "heavy rail" in both the very first sentence and also in the rules section, rule number 1. (I know there will be those who do say that the London Underground should be included, but prior to his departure from this website, the actual quiz-setter sent PM to all regular contestants to say that this was NOT what he had in mind when he set up this quiz and he had hoped that the rules and guidance wording was clear enough).

transportphoto very kindly updated rule 2 last year as a point of clarity was required.
