I was going to say Colne, but it isn't.

Can I take this opportunity just to quickly mention that cheating (ie looking up the code somewhere when in fact you don't know the answer) is outlawed in the rules of the quiz.

To prevent yourself from cheating inadvertently, I recommend typing what you think the answer is into the reply box first. You could then look up the correct answer to see if you are correct, but under no circumstances should you change the answer you've typed.

Can I refer you to posting # 3909 where the member put forward his submission with a "?" following it, but did not set a clue. That seemed to be within the spirit of this quiz. It was only where a following posting was made that clarified that the station name was correct, did that member then set the next clue to solve.

I think that you will find that most regular contributors to this quiz do have a very deep knowledge of the codes themselves.

One good thing about this quiz in the very early days of it being launched was that suggestions for rules additions were made to HST Power who set up this quiz in the first place who then ensured that the rules in the very first posting were always updated to include these amendments. I can cite an example of a particular time when matters were becoming "fraught" (to put it kindly) that caused HST Power to make posting # 886 on 26th September 2011 in order to make the position clear about the rules.

I can confirm that Colne is indeed NOT the answer to the clue that I set, but would suggest the crossing of the Pennines then heading into South Yorkshire. There, I have given all of you another clue.

These are the four rules of the quiz which are all self-explanatory in their clear and concise wording.
