Manchester Oxford Road has an entire team of cats - 7 I think.

I remember back in the 1980s Preston station had a 3-legged cat called 'Lucky'. I thought it was pretty unlucky myself.

Was it able to move about ok - which leg was missing front or back.

If it was in Preston it probably got people stubbing fags out on it, and spent its hours lapping up discarded alcohol and p*ss. As you can tell, I don't like Preston.

Huddersfield has recently acquired a black and white kitten which has been called Felix. It is currently living in the staff offices as it is too young to come out, but the staff report they are going to start bringing it out in a basket to get used to sounds and smells of trains and the station.

I was at Dorchester South in 1994 and they had one - it was sitting on the Ticket Office window, have a photo somewhere.

Honeybourne has - or had - a visiting cat who would attend some departures soliciting attention.

One evening the local youf were frequenting the shelter and he approached them - trouble I thought but they took a liking to him. I would suspect they were well known to each other.

Leamington Spa had one until recently - she was called Turbo and once boarded a train and ended up in Birmingham (I think)

I'm sure I have seen a cat at Preston station recently.

Also seems like Manchester Airport has an Airport cat!-not the station but the Airport itself.

I saw it walking around between T1 and T3 last month.

Birkenhead North use to have "Noddy", who often appeared in the local press. His party piece was sitting on the very edge of the platform, paws overhanging, while trains arrived and departed! hock:

Winchester has a particularly lovely one. I've heard him called all different names, my favourite being 'Mr. Whiskers'. He is extremely clever, by all accounts, waiting for the 0105 ex-Waterloo to dump its drunken hordes, before popping off home. He has a regular seat in the waiting area on Platform 1, under the departure board.

Northallerton has Brian, not the actual station cat but he does spend most of his time there!! Always up for a quick stroke

is that his name? Is he still going strong ( i guess you are reffering to the cat and not the spotter we alwatys called Brian, but had no idea who he actually was!)

Sandling, Kent used to have a station cat, haven't seen it in a while though.

Many years ago there was a ginger cat at a Devon station (I think on the Mortenhampsted branch) who lacked a tail having once been too slow to cross the track in front of a train.
I'm told that when he finally died he was buried on the station, with the epithaph:

'Beneath this stone and stretched out flat, lies Ginger, once our station cat'

Sandling, Kent used to have a station cat, haven't seen it in a while though.

The cat at Sandling lived on a local farm but spent most of his time at the station as he could not get on with the farm dogs! Due for a visit there soon and will check him out. Also for many years there was a cat that lived in the Station Managers office at Tonbridge and the local commuters used to bring in cans of food for her!
