Many years back dad went to some offices at Tottenham Court Road station near the bottom of the escalators and he was rather surprised to a cat sitting in an 'in' tray.

The Bluebell Railway had a particularly grumpy cat that spent most of time sleeping on a chair in the bookshop at Sheffield Park; it was so bad-tempered that the chair bore a sign warning people not to try to stroke it. It died a few years back, at an advanced age.

Rushden station (Northants), part of the Rushden Historic Transport Society has a large ginger moggie living at the station who has his own facebook page.

Not a cat fan here but I spotted this moggie at Sowerby Bridge who seemed to be right at home at the station, crossing the tracks and patrolling the platforms back in 2015.

There used to be a station cat at Charlbury but, sadly, he wandered up onto the road bridge one day and got run over by a car.

A cat named Muts frequently visits the station of Coevorden (Netherlands), and is very easy going with people. The train crews and frequent passengers all know who she is, as she is easily recognised. She's an older feline missing one leg, it had to be amputated amputated after a traffic accident a couple of years back.

A few weeks ago, someone picked up Muts and tried to smuggle her along as he rode the train. The train steward recognised Muts, took her away into the rear cab and locked her in there. The driver then gave her a cabride back to Coevorden.

Muts in the cab of the Arriva Spurt (Stadler GTW) used on the Zwolle - Coevorden - Emmen line.

I met the Hadfield station cat, Betsy, today. She was sitting on the booking counter but I was warned not to stroke her.

There seems to be a long Northern Twitter string about the cat dating from last April. Don't know how to attach a link but perhaps someone can oblige?
