St Erth may likely be the most southerly station in the country (with GGJ being the most northerly).

Slight misunderstanding there. Okehampton sees local services only (and then only during the summer). Even if they were run by HSTs (which I highly doubt but you never know sometimes ) they still wouldn't count as "High Speed" because the maximum speed attained on the route is so low.

Harrogate was used this morrning at 1012 on posting # 5518. I answered that one, so I will have to come up with another association this time.

Sherburn-in-Elmet was also served by services of the North Eastern Railway

Pontefract Baghill also lies on the Dearne Valley Line.

EVeryone's favourite station, Denton, fits in pretty well here. You don't need me to say why.

Baghill has three trains a day, not one a week!! Denton is just extreme and I wouldn't be surprised if it gets shut down tomorrow. Hardly anyone uses the train when it does call anyway because people rely on the frequent buses instead. I actually think it somewhat patronising that it's kept open, it obviously costs money to keep the station running, and don't even get me started as to why there's two platforms!!


Anyway, Ardwick is also a station with two platforms in Manchester operated by Northern with a limited service.

I seem to recall reading on this very forum (it would take ages to dig out the source though!) that the train from Stockport to Stalybridge costs Northern £96 to run. At only £5,000 a year, that really isn't bad...

Anyhow, an obvious link to Ardwick would be Bordesley - effectively Birmingham's equivalent of Ardwick, only with football extras.
