Manchester Airport is served by First TPE and Northern services, as is Salford Crescent.

There used to be 1tpd from Stockport-Clitheroe (ex-Buxton) AFAIK, I'll check.
Reading could also do with more through platforms ASAP (yes, I know they are getting some).

The link was from Darwen to Stockport, but there are now no direct services between these two stations and a change at Bolton is advised. I admit that Buxton to Clitheroe would be quite an attractive service to make a complete journey upon, though.
Could it be that you are confusing the 1tpd that departs Clitheroe at 1708 to Rochdale via Manchester Victoria and runs Monday to Saturday. On Monday to Fridays it arrives at Rochdale at 1847 and on Saturdays at 1849.

In answer to the clue that you set, I shall respond with....
In historical terms, both London Paddington and Reading have had terminal facilities on the Great Western Railway (but in Reading's case, it was only as a temporary terminal station in the very early days of the company).

Aylesbury and London Marylebone were both stations of the Great Central Railway.
Cardiff Bay is also served by a class 121 'bubblecar.'

Worcester Shrub Hill and Dorridge are both 3 platformed, LM-managed stations that are served by Class 150 and Class 172 DMUs.

Basingstoke also has regular(ish) services to Birmingham, Oxford and Weymouth.
Winchester is another station with both 3rd rail and XC services.

Bath Spa also has two platforms and fast services to a London terminus. It also just happens to have services to Reading, Basingstoke (albeit rarely), Southampton, Portsmouth and Weymouth, and is also the sole surviving central station in a fairly small Roman city; further, part of the route from the lost station has been converted into a heritage operation.

Bath Spa is next to a shopping precinct called Southgate.

Liverpool James Street and Hamilton Square are both stations on the Merseyrail network.
Ayr and Liverpool James Street were both opened in 1886.

Kilmarnock is a four platform station managed by First ScotRail, as is Ayr
Barnt Green also has 4 platforms.

Five Ways is another station on the Cross-city Line.
