Howwood was also opened by the Glasgow, Paisley, Kilmarnock and Ayr Railway in 1840.
The present station only dates from 2001. There have been two previous stations Howood (one w) open for just a few weeks in July/August 1840 ant the first Howwood station 1876-1955.

Southend Airport station is part of the Essex & South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership. The Partnership covers six lines in the area, including the Flitch Line between Witham and Braintree; one of the stations on this line is White Notley.
