But it still has 4 platforms, as does Bolton. So what was wrong with my post?

Norwich was the northern terminal station on the main line of the Great Eastern Railway, whilst the southern terminal station was London Liverpool Street.

Whats wrong with branch lines... they are quite unusual in many ways.

Barnsley - also has 1tph to Alfreton (or Nottingham, or Chesterfield) ;)

Crewe is the 'Doncaster' of the WCML, i.e. - it is a busy station, with a lot of railway history in the town, with associated works, many surrounding junctions, and with lots of passing traffic both freight and passenger, but not everything stops there - although most things do.

:D

Woking

The town of Burton is known in some circles as the UK base of tyre manufacturer Pirelli. One of their most prominent users, McLaren, is based in Woking.
