Chafford Hundred is the most used single platform station on the national network. One of the least used is Reddish South.

The tunnels referred to above are the Standege Tunnels. Marsden is the first station on the West Yorkshire side, whilst Greenfield is the first one on the Greater Manchester side.

Important to note the driver in the 1984 Morpeth accident was accquited of drunk driving even though admitted consuming alcohol.

Dover Priory is another station that is only served by SouthEastern.

Holton Heath was also built as a private station for the workers at a nearby defence establishment and only opened to the public some years later.

Crediton is now the junction for the Okehampton and Barnstaple lines which run parallel to the site of Coleford Junction. A similar situation exists at Newton Abbot which is now the junction for the Paignton and Plymouth lines which run parallel to the site of Aller Junction.

Cowden is one of only two single platform stations in Kent. The other one is Swale.
