Staplehurst is also connected by bus to a town once served by a branch line from another station further along the same line.

Redruth is connected to Helston by Go Cornwall service 34 and was once served by a branch from the now closed Gwinear Road.

Staplehurst is connected to Hawkhurst by Arriva Kent & Surrey service 5 and was once served by a branch from Paddock Wood.

Headcorn was also opened by the South Eastern Railway on 31st August 1842.

Hackney Central is also a Zone 2 station that has OSI with a fellow Zone 2 station (Battersea Park has an OSI with Queenstown Road; Hackney Central has an OSI with Hackney Downs).

Gloucester has the longest platform on the national network. The shortest is at Conon Bridge.
