Although Glazebrook station is not within the Greater Manchester area, it does mark the western boundary of the range of rail tickets produced by Transport for Greater Manchester. The first station after this boundary is Birchwood.

Birchwood station opened in 1981, the same year that Dronfield re-opened, having been closed to passengers in 1967 (albeit with a very temporary re-opening for a few days in Feb 1979)

Lazonby has a bakery in its former goods shed - and in a large extension thereto. The former goods shed at Ludlow houses another industry that uses yeast....a brewery.
