The original station building at Eggesford was designed in Gothic style by Sir William Tite CB FRS (1798 – 1873). He was also responsible for the design of the station at Barnes Bridge on the Hounslow Loop Line.

Holton Heath was a private station initially for a cordite factory. Singer - although the current station is not on the original site - was set up to serve a sewing machine factory.

Cardiff Central, managed by TfW, is one of the few DfT category A stations not managed directly by Network Rail. Another is York managed by LNER.

A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
Christ's Hospital is also a DfT category "E" station that was opened in 1902.

After having made 8,017 postings on this thread since it was launched, it now seems a good idea for me to take a long sabbatical from participating on this thread to allow others have free reign with different types of rail associations to the historical ones that I tend to use.

The Downs Link footpath passes through the former platforms at Christ's Hospital, as it follows the two routes that used to diverge there. Braintree also has a footpath from the station along a long-closed line (in this case the Flitch Way towards Bishop's Stortford).

Llandudno is also at the end of a double track branch with one intermediate station.
