Jordanhill station is five stops from Glasgow Central on the Argyle Line in a north westerly direction; Cambuslang is also five stops from Glasgow Central on the Argyle Line, but in an south easterly direction. (The geographical directions are mine!)

Birmingham New Street was another station regularly served by trains hauled by class 55 loco D9000 when it was on hire to Virgin Trains in the 1990s
