Coatbridge Central

Another case where the "Central" station isn't the main one for the town.

Fife- a loop

... Fife's not a station. It's a rather large council in Scotland...

Anyway, I'll now go with

Millfield, another railway station directly replaced with a T&W Metro station.

Altrincham; all trains from Sale start and terminate there (and it brings us back onto the railway network!)

Inverness

All services passing through must enter the station and reverse out.

A few do. There's a Queen Street-Elgin service once a week, and a daily Kyle of Lochalsh-Elgin service.

Wasn't there a Euston - Lairg service once upon a time?

For the same reason, I shall call Colchester Town.

Wiki says this about reversals from the Kyle/Far North line onto the Highland Main/Elgin line:

Platform 5 also has a connection from the east side, but it is only usable by a two car train, and even then, it must not be in passenger service and movements from Platform 5 to the east line are not allowed.

So if there are through services from west to east, I assume the bit about the train having to be out of service and the bit about no east movements are both wrong then?

1715 SuX Kyle of Lochalsh - Elgin
[note: Train uses this route inward bound to Inverness.]
