The line from Carnforth to Hellifield contains the longest absolute block section on the national network (Carnforth Station Junction-Settle Junction).
Although Skipton is in North Yorkshire, MetroCards (issued by the West Yorkshire Metro) are still valid at this station - Weeton is also in a similar situation.
