Ebbsfleet International is at the end of was was CTRL phase 2. Before this opened Eurostar trains ran to Waterloo using the spur from Singlewell to Fawkham Junction on the Chatham main line. The first station they would pass through on joining this line was Farningham Road.

Brondesbury is also a DfT category "E" station that was opened in 1860.

Until 1883, Brondesbury station was named or had "Edgware Road" in the station's name. Thankfully, it was renamed to avoid confusion with the two London Underground stations. On the flip side, Essex Road, then a tube station, was named "Canonbury & Essex Road" between 1922 and 1948, reverting to the current name to avoid confusion with Canonbury station.

There were several other (now closed) stations with Clifton in their name across the country, such as Clifton-on-Trent, Clifton Moor and Clifton Bridge. The only other Clifton-named station that is open, but nowhere near Greater Manchester, is Clifton Down in Bristol.

Two stationmasters at Dawlish moved to West Drayton station after their time there. They were Mr Stephen A Hunt (at Dawlish between 1889 and 1895) and Mr W A Harrison (at Dawlish between 1895 and 1896).

Tring was originally intended as a destination of the Metropolitan Railway's branch from Chalfont & Latimer, which first built the branch to Chesham in 1887-89, before choosing to construct an alternative route across the Chilterns via Aylesbury instead.

Chiltern Railways services serving Chalfont & Latimer run between Marylebone and Aylesbury with alternat trains extended to Aylesbury Vale Parkway.
